Mesut Özil enjoyed an family dinner at an Italian restaurant on Thursday evening in the lead up to this weekends clash with West Brom.
The 27-year-old posted a picture of himself alongside his family with the caption, “La Familia.”
Özil has been in great form for the Gunners providing 10 assists in 11 league games which is also the highest in Europe’s top five leagues – England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The Germany international also holds the record for assists provided in consecutive Premier League games (6) which he also broke this season.
According to ESPN the north London based club are nearing an agreement over extending the contract of Özil.
Özil joined Arsenal on a £42.5 million move from Real Madrid in 2013 and still has another two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract but the north London outfit want to tie him down to a long-term agreement.
The new contract if completed is likely to make Özil the highest paid player at the club and perhaps the Premier League. Özil is already the 12th highest paid footballer in the world when his total earnings are factored in according to Forbes.
