Arsenal have been closely linked with a move for Beşiktaş midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup over the past week and now Talksport are reporting that the Gunners could make a move for their former youngster.
Talksport do claim to be using Turkish sources where the story went nationwide after Fanatik reported that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Özyakup and sent scouts to watch him live recently.
The 22-year-old midfielder provided an assist in the Black Eagles 2-1 win over Eskişehirspor on the weekend.
The Turkish international midfielder has been in impressive form for the Istanbul giants this season providing four assists and scoring once in all competitions.
Özyakup will of course be a familiar name to some Arsenal fans – especially those who follow the youth teams – as he played a major role in Gunners Under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009.
The young midfielder joined Beşiktaş in 2012 for a fee of €500,000 and played the last two seasons under the stewardship of current West Ham manager Slaven Bilic.
