Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic believes Demba Ba will not face a lot of abuse from Liverpool fans when the two sides meet in the Europa League Round of 32.
“I am sure Demba Ba will get a few boos and whistles, that is normal but I know he will also get respect,” Bilic said.
“In England they tend to dislike players who dive and try to deceive the referee.
“Demba is an honest player and did his job scoring against Liverpool last season so I doubt he is going to face too much of a backlash.
“Demba is a role model for fair play, he just did his job, he is a very humble and respectful guy who would never say anything bad about Liverpool or any other team, that is his character.”
Ba famously scored against Liverpool last season while playing for Chelsea. Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip against the Blues allowed Ba a free run on goal to give the London based side the lead the lead.
Chelsea won the game 2-0 delivering a hammer blow to the Reds title challenge.
