Chelsea are on the look-out for a new striker after Didier Drogba hinted that he may retire at the end of the season.
Brazilian striker Anderson Talisca’s performances for Benfica have caught the eye of the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager has assigned scouts to monitor the 20-year-old’s progression this season.
Chelsea’s scouts will also be present at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium tonight to watch Brazil take on Turkey.
Talisca was called up to the Brazilian national team to replace PSG’s Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian Football Federation stated that Lucas was dropped from the squad because of a right-foot injury sustained in the French league this weekend.
Lucas was returning to the national team for the first time since being left out of the World Cup squad this year.
The former Bahia player has been nicknamed ‘Yaya Talisca’ in reference to Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure due to his height.
Talisca has score nine goals in 14 games for Benfica this season in all competitions.
