Borussia Dortmund Ilkay Gundogan has been dropped from the squad along with Sven Bender ahead of the Europa League Last 16 second-leg clash due to injury.

Gundogan also missed last weeks game against Spurs with the same injury to his foot.

The Germany international did return to training over the course of the week but head coach Thomas Tuchel was not willing to take any chances with this midfield playmakers fitness.

The 25-year-old is a key player for Dortmund with six assists and three goals in 32 appearances for this season but considering Dortmund won the first-leg 3-0 Tuchel decided he could take a risk in leaving him out of the team.

Dortmund arrived in London today on the Turkish Airlines TK 3321 flight with no other missing players.

Turkish international midfielder Nuri Sahin also made the trip and is likely to start after an impressive display for Dortmund in the Bundesliga on the weekend.

The German giants need just a draw to progress and could even make it to the next stage losing by less than four goals.
