€15m Turkey star closely linked with Tottenham before Roma transfer set for debut against North London club
Turkey international star Cengiz Under was closely linked with a move to Tottenham before his move to Roma.
Basaksehir manager Abdullah Avci revealed that the North London outfit scouted Under over the last campaign.
Basaksehir manager Abdullah Avci told TRTSpor last month: “Yes, it’s true there is some interest for Cengiz. It’s normal that the clubs like Tottenham and United are showing interest for him because the kid is a good footballer.”

Roma ended up winning the race for for the rising star.
The Italian giants signed Under on a five-year deal for a fee that could rise to €14.9 million including bonuses.
The 20-year-old became the most expensive Turkish international to leave the Super Lig in the process.
Under joined the team last week but has managed to impress his new head coach Diego Perotti.
“He’s very strong,” Perotti told Roma TV after today’s session.
“He has a good left foot, he’s quick, maybe he’s a bit small and he doesn’t have much experience in contact.
“He has to gain some muscle, but you can see right away when someone is good. We understand that he’ll be an important player for us.”
In a twist of fate Under looks set to make his debut against a team he was closely linked with before joining Roma.
Corriere dello Sport claim that Under is set to make his debut at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on Wednesday July 26.
Per the source, Under impressed his coaches with a splendid goal in training and that he will be given playing time against Spurs.
