On-loan Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike scored a brace in his first start for West Ham since joining  the club last month.

The Nigerian international striker scored twice in the 5-1 FA Cup 5th Round victory over Blackburn.

Hammers and Nigeria international teammate Victor Moses stated that Emenike deserved the goals after the game and praised his work ethic.

Moses told the official West Ham website: “Emmanuel is happy and I’m happy for him as well. He deserved it – he worked very hard, never stopped running and you can see his ability.

“He’s very strong and I’m delighted that he got his two goals.”

Moses also scored against Blackburn for his second goal for the east London based club this season.

Emenike scored on 64 minutes and bagged a brace with his second of the game on 85 minutes.

Emenike scored his first goal for the Hammers since joining on a six-month loan from Fenerbahce last month.

The Nigerian international striker had made two appearances prior to the Blackburn game but this was his first actual start.
