The German football journalist Rafael Honigstein has stated that Emre Can is currently hugely influential at Liverpool.
Can has played every Premier League game since Jurgen Klopp was appointed as Liverpool manager in Brendan Rodger’s place.
“He’s really important right now because he gets what Klopp wants,” Honigstein told GiveMeSport.
“He played in systems that are quite similar, he understands the vocabulary, he understands the instructions and at times from what I’ve seen he almost acts as Klopp’s liaison on the pitch. I think he’s hugely influential at this point.”
Can played a major role in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League. The 21-year-old started in midfield and helped the Reds control possession for most of the game completing the highest number of passes in midfield (74) at an 84 percent.
The 21-year-old worked hard on the defensive end and contributed in the final third with two key passes – joint highest in the team.
The win took Liverpool into 7th place on 17 points meanwhile Chelsea languish in 15th place on 11 points.
