Everton team news: £27m striker could make debut, Allardyce missing several key names for Liverpool clash

Everton take on their Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the League Cup tonight as they look to return to winning ways.

Sam Allardyce’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United earlier this week.

The Toffees have however been boosted by the arrival of Turkey international striker Cenk Tosun. The club confirmed the prolific striker’s arrival for £27 million. Tosun could even end up making his debut for Everton in the Merseyside derby tonight if his registration is sorted out in time.

The 26-year-old striker scored four goals and provided two assists in the UEFA Champions League this season.
