Fenerbahçe striker Robin van Persie is looking forward to his first Intercontinental derby against Galatasaray today.
The former Manchester United striker is expected to start against the Lions today and stated that he cannot wait to experience the derby.
Van Persie also revealed that he consulted former Fenerbahçe star Dirk Kuyt and Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder ahead of the game regarding what he should expect.
“I heard a lot about the derby from Kuyt and Sneijder. It looks completely crazy and I can’t wait to play,” Van Persie told De Telegraaf.
The experienced striker joined Fenerbahçe from United on a three-year deal over the summer and already has five goals to his name this season.
Van Persie scored the winning goal against Kayserispor last week which took Fenerbahçe into joint second place alongside Galatasaray.
