Besiktas’ five-match win streak was put to an end in the process and they while they are still mathematically still in the title race it would take both Galatasaray and Basaksehir to drop points twice in their last three games.
The Black Eagles are currently four points behind Basaksehir and Galatasaray.
The Lions take on Rizespor away next in the league, Besiktas meanwhile face a tricky trip against Trabzonspor.
