Rizespor manager Hikmet Karaman admitted that he was pleased with his sides performance despite losing 3-2 against Trabzonspor.
“We needed to take the lead in the opening 45 minutes,” Karaman said.
“We could have finished the first half 3-1 or 4-1 we had that many chances but we kept falling behind, conceding soft goals.
“What we did show is that we still have the fight and drive to stay up in the league.
“We are a Süper Lig team, I have not had long to work with the team after all I only arrived yesterday and took charge of my first game today.
“The team will improve over the next few weeks, we will defend better and be more clinical in front of goal, there are good signs but we do need to improve.”
Rizespor have now lost five matches in a row and find themselves in the relegation zone in 17th place.
