Leicester City boss Ranieri heaps praise on new transfer

Claudio Ranieri has heaped praise on Leicester City’s latest transfer Gokhan Iner.

The experienced Italian manager praised the 31-year-old’s composure on the bass as well as his defensive capabilities.

“He has quality. He is calm, he can keep possession, switch the ball, pass to the strikers and defend very well,” Ranieri was quoted as saying by the BBC.

When asked about the comparisons made between Inler and Esteban Cambiasso Ranieri said, “It is not important to compare. Now it is a new season, new team mates. Cambiasso was a story and now we must write a new story.

“After Esteban it was important to bring another midfielder, different but with the same mentality.”

Inler made his debut for Leicester in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham last weekend.

The Swiss international joined the Premier League outfit for a reported £5 million transfer fee despite interest from Bundesliga outfit Schalke and Turkish giants Beşiktaş.

Leicester have gotten off to a flying start in the League with two wins and a draw in their opening draw games. City have won 28 Premier League points since April 1st 2015; more than any other side.
