Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Çalhanoğlu has attracted a lot of interest from around Europe following his meteoric rise over the past few seasons.
Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to sign the Bayer wonder-kid according to the Daily Star.
Arsenal and Serie A giants AC Milan are also reported to be interested in the 21-year-old play-maker.
Çalhanoğlu would become the third player born in Germany of Turkish origin in the Liverpool side should he join the Premier League giants – Emre Can and Samed Yeşil being the other two.
The rising star already has five goals and two assists to his name this season and has built a reputation as being a set-piece specialist. Çalhanoğlu takes just about ever corner for his side and has a phenomenal free-kick scoring record – 22 in the Bundesliga.
Çalhanoğlu is regarded as being one of the best set-piece specialists in world football.
Pep Guardiola recently revealed that he is a fan of the free-kick maestro, “Çalhanoğlu is one of the best free-kick takers in the Bundesliga.”
Çalhanoğlu is the sixth most valuable U-21 player in the world according to a recent study conducted by Soccerex.
