Liverpool keeper Loris Karius has been closely linked with a move to Besiktas in the Turkish media.
A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that they had initially targeted Simon Mignolet.
In fact, the Black Eagles have several keepers on their shortlist including Arsenals’s David Ospina.
The problem is Besiktas are not keen on paying a transfer fee.
Talks with Arsenal over a loan fee are going round in circles due to Besiktas not agreeing on a buyout clause option and loan fee.
Mignolet meanwhile, is out of the Istanbul giants pay range.
Besiktas averted attention to Karius as they are of the view that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will sanction a move.
The Eagles have been informed through intermediaries that Klopp is considering allowing Karius to leave on loan to give him a fresh start.
Besiktas would afford the German keeper a first-team role and give him the chance to clear his head.
The Super Lig outfit would not have to pay a loan fee and Liverpool would not request a buyout clause as they do see Karius as having a long-term future at the club.

The Eagles have however, yet to make a formal offer.
Besiktas are in the market for a keeper after selling Fabri to Fulham for £5.3m.
Club president Fikret Orman is intent on keeping transfer fees to a minimum and slash his wage budget as part of an ongoing policy to reduce club debt.
