Fenerbahçe sporting director Giuliano Terraneo expects Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie to arrive in Istanbul by Sunday according to NTV.
The Yellow Canaries released a statement on the Istanbul stock exchange yesterday confirming talks with the 31-year-old striker.
This may look like a step back from completing the transfer however, it is common practice in Turkey to release statements on the stock exchange regarding talks before announcing the transfer due to legal requirements.

As reported by Turkish-football.com’s Emre Sarıgül and the Guardian’s Marcus Cristienson on Thursday Fenerbahçe have reached personal terms with Van Persie who is expected to sign a three-year deal.
The 31-year-old is expected to join the Yellow Canaries for a €6.5 million transfer fee on a three-year deal.
Van Persie provided three assists and scored 12 goals in 31 appearances for Manchester United last season. The 31-year-old has scored 49 goals in 98 games for the Netherlands national team.
