Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan has passed a medical with Barcelona according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan giants were reported to be wary of the 24-year-old’s current medical condition after a long spell on the sidelines due to a back injury. Barcelona wanted to determine the players fitness before launching a bid to secure his services.
The examination was conducted by Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt and the Spanish newspaper claims the medical was satisfactory.
According to the Spanish sports paper AS, Barcelona are looking to sign Gündoğan this summer but will be unable to register the German International until the clubs transfer ban ends in January 2016.
Gündoğan traveled to Barcelona on Monday according to a report in the German newspaper Bild and while the reason behind the trip remains shrouded in mystery there are rumours that the 24-year-old held talks with the La Liga giants.
