Mehmet Ekici is ‘brilliant’ says Ersun Yanal [divider]

Trabzonspor midfielder Mehmet Ekici is a terrific talent according to head coach Ersun Yanal.

Ekici scored a brace and setup a third goal in the Black Sea Storms 3-2 win over Karabükspor in the Süper Lig on Monday.

“Mehmet is a terrific talent, he has technique of the highest quality,” Yanal told Lig Tv after the game.

Yanal underlined that Ekici is a player capable of playing at the highest level and that he has found his feet at Trabzonspor.

“We have to be realistic, he is a top class player who is only here because he had some problems with injuries and issues off the field in Germany,” he added.

“Ekici is capable of playing at the highest level, his character, work rate and professionalism is all of the highest order.”

The Turkish international has nine goals and nine assists in all competitions for Trabzonspor this season.

Ekici has scored four goals from set-pieces, more than 17 Süper Lig sides.
