Newcastle United transfer news: £6m French forward Emmanuel Riviere in talks with Turkish club

Newcastle United forward Emmanuel Riviere could be on his way to the Turkish Super League this summer.

According to L’Equipe, the French forward is currently in talks with the Ankara based club Osmanlispor. Per the source, Riviere has turned down an offer from the Ligue 1 side Metz and is warming to a move to Turkey.

The report concurs with FutbolArena’s report which recently claimed that the Ankara based side were close to striking a deal with Riviere.

Osmanlispor are on the look-out for a new forward after the departure of Cameroon international Pierre Webo.

The former France U21 forward joined Newcastle for £6 million from Monaco back in 2014.

Riviere has scored just one league goal in the three years since joining Newcastle.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at the Spanish side Osasuna and failed to score a single goal during his spell in La Liga. Riviere has under 12 months remaining on his current contract with the Magpies.
