Newcastle & West Ham Sent Scouts To Istanbul Derby For €20m Target

Galatasaray - Garry Rodriguez

Galatasaray star Garry Rodrigues scored in the 2-0 Istanbul derby victory over Besiktas at the Turk Telekom Arena Stadium on Sunday.

Rodrigues has attracted widespread interest after an impressive breakthrough season with the Lions.

A source close to Galatasaray revealed to Turkish-Football that several scouts were present at the game.

West Ham, Newcastle United and Lyon were among the sides that had representatives keeping tabs on the 27-year-old.

The Magpies have been closely linked with Rodrigues throughout the season and while enquiries have been made Galatasaray have received no official bids.

The Istanbul giants value their star man as being worth €20 million.

The Netherlands born player has eight goals and nine assists in all competitions for the Lions this season.

The Cape Verde international joined Galatasaray from PAOK Saloniki in January 2017 and still has another three-years remaining on his current contract.

The Lions are in financial trouble and did sell another important first-team player, Badou Ndiaye to Stoke City in January for €16 million.

Galatasaray would consider an offer that matches their valuation.

The Istanbul based outfit are currently first in the Super Lig with three games remaining.

Galatasaray are not over the finish line just yet as just four-points separate the top-four.
