Fenerbahçe welcome Galatasaray to the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium for the Intercontinental derby today.
On-loan Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic is hoping to start for Fenerbahçe after staring in the 1-0 win over Kayserispor last week followed by the 1-0 victory over Ajax.
Markovic believes his side have what it takes to beat Galatasaray and considering Fenerbahçe have not lost at home to their cross-city rivals since the turn of the millennium he has reason to be confident.
“The fans are not very pleased with our recent performances despite the results however, a win against Galatasaray would be the turning point and we are capable of beating them,” Markovic told Fanatik.
