Cardozo was however, rumoured to be suffering from a hernia injury.
Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal denied that the Paraguayan international is out injured.
“Cardozo does not have a hernia anywhere in his body I do not know who is spreading these stories,” Yanal told Eurosport TR.
The Paraguayan international moved to Benfica from Newell’s Old Boys back in 2007 for a fee of €9.1 million.
Cardozo scored a grand total of 172 goals in 293 games for Benfica during his time at the Portuguese giants.
The 31-year-old won the Portuguese Cup, five Portuguese League Cups and two league titles during his time at the Estadio da Luz.
