The 26-year-old recently recovered from an injury which had seen him sidelined for two months.
Özil made his first appearance last weekend against Stoke since damaging his knee ligaments during a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in October.
The record £42.5 million Arsenal signing did not make an appearance against City due to lacking match fitness.
Özil has made two assists and scored one goal in ten appearances for the North-London based club this season.
The World Cup winner provided 14 assists for Arsenal last season and has a total of 157 assists in 399 games.
The 26-year-old has an 88 percent completion rate and has averaged 60.6 passes per-game, only Aaron Ramsey has a better record of 60.9 passes per-game.
