Real Madrid's decision to appoint Zidane 'a good decision' says Arsenal star Mesut Ozil

Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has heaped praise on Real Madrid’s newly appointed manager Zinedine Zidane.

Ozil has called the appointment ‘a good decision’ and wished Zidane good luck.

The Germany international uploaded a picture of himself celebrating alongside Zidane while at Real Madrid. Ozil included the following caption, “A good decision! 😉👍 One of the greatest football players of all time is Real Madrid head coach now! ☺ All the best to #Zizou! #RealMadrid #Zidane #legend #BeTheDifference.”

Özil recently stated that he is an admirer of the former Real Madrid legend Zidane.

The Germany international heaped praise on the Zidane stating that the Frenchman never done tricks to show off but instead played a ‘clever game.’

“I always admired [Zinedine] Zidane. He didn’t do tricks for the sake of it. He never wanted to show off. He just played a clever game,” Ozil stated in an interview with ​Henry Winter of the Times.

Özil has provided 16 assists in 17 Premier League games which is more than any other player in England and the top five leagues in Europe including France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

The 27-year-old has won the Arsenal player of the month award for the last two months for the north London club and is expected to win the away for a third consecutive time for December.
