“Talks with Beşiktaş are ongoing, most the rumours however, are not true for example the Inter link was false,” Erhan was quoted as saying by Turkish newspaper Radikal.
Erhan also revealed that they rejected an offer from Trabzonspor.
“We initially were in talks with Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş but we rejected Trabzonspor’s offer,” he added.
Arslan is on the verge of signing a 3.5 deal worth €1.4 million per-season with Beşiktaş according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Italian journalist and Tuttomercatoweb reporter Gianluigi Longari broke the news via his Twitter account.
Beşiktaş board member Mete Vardar also confirmed interest in Arslan following the arrival of Porto right-back Daniel Opare in Istanbul, Turkey yesterday.
“Tolgay is a very promising player, he is someone we are waiting to see here but it would be wrong to talk about the talks before he signs an official contract,” Vardar told NTV Spor.
Arslan can enter direct talks with other clubs as his contract is set to run out at the end of the season. The 24-year-old has two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
