Tottenham 2 – 1 Arsenal – Ozil scores in Arsenal defeat
[divider]Mesut Özil scored in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against their rivals Tottenham in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old midfielder only needed 11 minutes to open the scoring, the Germany international showed great awareness to capitalise Olivier Giroud’s mis-timed shot inside the penalty area.
However, two second half goals from the in-form striker Harry Kane gave Spurs the victory.
Özil has three goals and one assist in 2015 since recovering from a knee injury that ruled him out of action since October.
The former Real Madrid man put in a man of the match performance in Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Aston Villa last weekend.
Arsenal are currently 6th in the Premier League on 42 points after 23 games.
