Tottenham are planning to make a £10 million bid for Mainz 05 midfielder Yunus Malli according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that Spurs made an enquiry for the Turkish international over the winter transfer window but could not reach a deal with the Bundesliga club.

Tottenham have been keeping close tabs on Malli sending scouts to a number of Mainz games this season.

Mainz value their star man at £10 million and Tottenham fans will get the chance to see their potential new transfer when Turkey take on England at the Etihad stadium in an international friendly in just over one months time.

Malli was born in Germany and represented his country of birth at U21 level before switching allegiances to  the country of his family – Turkey.

The 23-year-old featured in the Crescent-Stars 2-1 victory over Sweden last week and has now returned to Germany ahead of Mainz match against Augsburg on the weekend.
Malli averages a goal every 243 minutes and has hit the back of the net 10 times while providing four assists in 29 appearances this season.
