Liverpool midfielder-come-defender will make his first appearance under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp against Tottenham in the Premier League tomorrow.
Brendan Rodgers was sacked following the 1-1 draw against rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby before the international break.
Klopp was appointed as his replacement during the two-week interval and will take charge of his first league game against Spurs.
Can was a regular first-choice starter for Rodgers but was used primarily as a defender last season.
The 21-year-old will however, start in his preferred midfield role in his first game under the stewardship of Klopp.
