Turkey are unbeaten in their last 10 games and Barcelona star Arda Turan has featured in nine of them.
The bearded winger is yet to play a single game for the reigning La Liga champions due to the FIFA transfer ban but he has been in fine form for his country – the ban does not apply to international football.
Turan played a key role in Turkey booking a place in Euro 2016 against all the odds. The Crescent-Stars had a 2.7 percent chance of direct qualification going into the Czech Republic game but following victories against the Netherlands, the Czech’s and a last minute winner against Iceland Turkey managed to book a place in the summer tournament.
The Barcelona star has also scored three times and provided four goals in his last six games for Turkey.
The Crescent-Stars have also moved into 18th place in the FIFA World Rankings from 36th place in the last ranking.
Turan still has to wait until January to play for Barcelona but fans of the reigning Champions League title holders will be pleased with his performances for Turkey.
The 28-year-old is likely to start against Greece in tomorrow’s international friendly to continue working on his match fitness.
