Turkish referee chief Zekeriya Alp resigns [divider]
The Central Refereeing Committee president Zekeriya Alp has confirmed that he has resigned from his position.
Alp has been heavily criticised by club presidents and sections of the press for decision by referees under his command this season.
The Turkish Football Federation have also confirmed that Alp has resigned from his position.
Alp has since been replaced by Yusuf Namoğlu.
The TFF released the following statement: “We want to thank Zekeriya Alp for his services to Turkish football. Our new leader will by Yusuf Namoğlu, the committee has voted in his favour and he will take charge with immediate effect. Namoğlu will now select his administrative and technical team. We wish Alp and Namoğlu all the best going forwards.”
