Fenerbahçe striker Robin van Persie has been dropped from the Netherlands national team side ahead of the international friendly against Wales.
Manchester United star Memphis Depay has also been left out of the side that failed to book a place in the European Championships this summer.
“I don’t think he’s playing well [for his club],” Blind was quoted saying by the Guardian about Van Persie.
“I think Depay is a player for the future but there are other issues to look at. Perhaps Louis van Gaal has also said something. In football you must function in a team. He doesn’t always do that. That’s something he has to learn.”
Van Persie has 50 goals in 101 games for the Dutch national team side and has vowed not the quit the team.
The Netherlands international joined Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal from Manchester United over the summer and already has five goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
