Fenerbahçe lost their first major Istanbul derby of the season 3-1 against Beşiktaş at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.
On-loan Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic was given his second consecutive start after an impressive game against Bursaspor last week where he provided the assist for Luis Nani’s opening goal.
The Serbian international got off to a great start in the derby and was one of the Yellow Canaries most dangerous weapons in the final third with his pace and impressive dribbling ability.
Markovic actually made the highest number of dribbles in the game (6) despite having his game cut short after just 37 minutes due to injury.
The young winger caused a social media storm with one of his blistering forward runs when he literally stormed through the middle of the pitch past half the Beşiktaş team to almost setup Fernandao.

Sources close to the club told Turkish-football.com that the 21-year-old could be out for a fortnight with a muscle tear. The severity of his injury will be determined tomorrow following an MR scan by the team doctors.
