The Reds did suffer from bad luck on the day as Mohamed Salah had to be taken off injured after a collision with Sergio Ramos.
To make matters worse, Liverpool goalkeeper, Karius a night to forget.
Los Blancos took the lead early in the second half after Karius through the ball onto Karim Benzema’s foot, who managed to divert the pass into the back of the net.
Karius then misjudged a long-range strike from Gareth Bale, who parried the ball into the goal for Real’s third and final goal.
