Bruma is a product of the Sporting Lisbon’s youth academy. The Portugal u21 international has revealed that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol.
“It will be an honour for me to play against Cristiano Ronaldo,” Bruma, 20, told Galatasaray’s official website.
“He’s my idol and it feels special to have the opportunity to play in the same league as him.”
Bruma made the move to Galatasaray from Sporting for £9 million back in 2013, following an impressive performance during the U20 World Cup held in Turkey.
Key strengths
Bruma is a flamboyant winger whose main attributes are his pace and trickery. The 22-year-old enjoys cutting on off the left wing to drive at the opposition defence.
The former Sporting man can add both pace to either of Tottenham’s wings and has the quality to deliver from dangerous locations.
Bruma also has an eye for goal with eight assists and eight goals for Galatasaray so far this term.
Only Jeremain Lens has a higher average performance rating in the league according to Whoscored.
Will he leave Galatasaray this summer:
Bruma will have just 12 months remaining on his deal with Galatasaray this summer. The club are currently experiencing financial problems and cannot afford to lose him on the free in 2018.
Should the Lions be unable to extend Bruma’s contract, it is highly likely that he will leave this summer.
Bruma has undoubtedly been the Istanbul giants player of the season but he is not on the best of terms with recently appointed manager Igor Tudor.
Bruma is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League. The young winger’s representative in Turkey, Marco Kirdemir revealed to Turkish-Football that he has received offers from the Premier League.
“I have received offers for Bruma, Premier League sides are interested in him and he is more than capable of playing in that league,” Kirdemir said.
Bruma has already played for Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and La Liga outfit Real Sociedad but has yet to play in the Premier League.
