Balikesirspor can escape relegation zone says manager [divider]
Balıkesirspor manager Kemal Özdeş believes his side can still escape the relegation zone despite being in last place on just 14 points.
Özdeş spoke at the post-match press conference following the 2-2 draw against Beşiktaş.
“We have nine home games in the second half of the season, that is going to work in our favour, we will play the four teams directly above us in the danger zone so it is up to us now,” Özdeş told Turkish-football.com reporters.
Balıkesirspor are currently the worst performing side out of the newly promoted teams.
Başakşehir are currently fourth and Mersin are seventh in the Süper Lig.
Balıkesirspor are three points off 17th placed Karabükspor and will need to close a seven point gap to make it out of the drop zone.
Bal-Kes host fellow league strugglers Rizespor in the league on the weekend.
Balıkesirspor have the worst defensive record in the league, the newly promoted side have conceded 43 goals this season.
