Turkey drew 1-1 against the Dutch national side to keep their chances of making the 2016 European Championship alive.

Terim underlined that the point could prove to be very important in the qualification process.

“I really enjoyed the match. I want to emphasise that it is difficult to play the Netherlands both home and away. But my team played well and didn’t give away many chances,” he added.

Turkey would have overtaken Netherlands and moved into third place in Group A on seven points had they won.

The Dutch remain in third place following the draw, increasing their points tally to seven.

Terim guided Turkey to their last major competition in the 2008 European Championships.

The Crescent-Stars made it to the semi-final of Euro 2008.
