Galatasaray are in the market for a new defensive midfielder after Felipe Melo signalled his intention to return to the Serie A.
The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to Inter Milan to join former manager Roberto Mancini recently.
The Turkish news agency DHA has stated that Galatasaray have singled out AC Milan’s Nigel de Jong as a replacement for Melo.
Melo has a year remaining on his contract meaning the Istanbul based club will need to sell this season if they do not want he to go for free next season.
De Jong has been closely linked with a move to Manchester united by the Metro. The Netherlands international has score three goals in 29 appearances for AC Milan this season.
