Mersin prepare for cup clash with Karabukspor

Mersin Idmanyurdu have begun preparations for their Ziraat Turkish Cup clash with Karabukspor on Wednesday 11 February.

The Red Devils will be in a buoyant mood going into the game following their 6-2 thrashing of Kasimpasa over the weekend.

Hat-Trick hero Welliton has been given a day’s rest following his performance and is expected to start against Karabukspor.

Mersin came second in Group C behind Bursaspor with eight points from six games. Riza Calimbay’s side won two, drew two and lost two of the six games.  There opponents Karabukspor topped Group D ahead of Basaksehir with 13 points in 6 games.

Tolunay Kafkas’s side won four, drew one and lost one of their games in the group stages.

Mersin have won one of their last eight games in the league and sit in 8th place with 26 points in 19 games. Karabukspor find themselves in 17th places with 16 points in 19 games.
