Rizespor manager Hikmet Karaman revealed that Ludovic Obraniak risked his life playing against Fenerbahçe.
“I wish he never started in hindsight, we put his life at risk, he started having irregular heart beats but wanted to play on,” Karaman told AA.
“Luckily the test results came back fine after the game but he will go for further tests with his personal doctor in France.”
The Polish international joined Werder from Bordeaux last January but has struggled for playing time this season making only three appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
Obraniak joined Rizespor on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has two goal and four assists in 12 games for Rizespor this season.
Fenerbahçe ended up winning the game 5-1 but the result was marred by a armed attack on the Yellow Canaries team bus.
The driver Ufuk Kıran was shot and the bus but the rest of the team and staff were unharmed.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) reacted to the attack by suspending Süper Lig and Turkish Cup matches for a week.
