3 Turkish players Wenger should consider as part of £100m Arsenal overhaul
Reports emerged yesterday that Arsene Wenger will be staying on as Arsenal manager.
The Mirror reported that Wenger is set to be given a new two-year contract and that Arsenal would give him a budget in excess of £100 million as part of an overhaul to take to the club to the next level.
The latest developments have prompted transfer rumours regarding who Wenger could target over the summer.
Wenger could lose his sole Germany international of Turkish origin Mesut Ozil over the summer according to the Sun.
Arsenal enjoy widespread support from the 500,000 strong Turkish community in London who will also be closely following the latest stories regarding Wenger.
We take a look at three Turkish international players that Arsenal could realistically target over the summer as part of Wenger’s overhaul.
Arda Turan
One of the main criticisms levelled at the current Arsenal squad is that there are very few ‘winners’. Even Mesut Ozil has not actually won a domestic title. Another issue often raised is the perceived lack of passion, desire and fight shown by many of the players.

Turan would kill two birds with one stone. The Turkish international is a proven winner. Turan has won every domestic trophy in Turkey and for every side he has played for in Spain. He has also lifted the Europa League, European Super Cup and could end up reaching another Champions League final this season.
Turan has been in impressive form scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists. The hard-working attacking midfielder was renowned for his aggressive style and has been in some incredible comebacks over the years, demonstrating a never say die attitude.

Barcelona could be open to the sale of Turan over the summer with Luis Enrique leaving. AS repot that Barca need to raise funds to renew Messi’s deal and that Turan could end up being sacrificed.
Turkish-Football recently reported that Turan brought a property in London and he has revealed in the past that he would be interested in playing Premier League football.
