Arda Turan became the third Turkish player to join Barcelona when he completed his £24 million move from Atletico Madrid last week.
Turan will be unable to play for six months in league and cup competitions due to Barcelona’s transfer ban but he will be able to feature in the pre-season friendlies.
The Turkish international took part in team training for the first time today and is expected to join his teammates on the US tour.
Barcelona will feature in the International Championship Cup. The friendly tournament will have three editions this year with the other two being held in Australia and China.
The North America edition will include Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, PSG, SL Benfica, ACF Fiorentina, Club América, the LA Galaxy, the New York Red Bulls, and the San Jose Earthquakes across 11 cities.
Barcelona will take on Manchester United at Santa Clara, California on 25 July and then Chelsea three days later in Landover, Michigan. Turan could feature at some stage in both games.
Chelsea and United were both closely linked with Turan before his move to Barcelona last week. The Turkish international could end up facing his former Atleti teammates Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois if he stars against Chelsea.
