Sheffield Wednesday transfer news: Owls beat Turkish club in race to sign Netherlands U21 international
Championship side Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Joost van Aken.
The former Netherland’s U21 international has joined the Owls from the Dutch side Heerenveen.
According to the Sheffield Star, Joost van Aken has joined Sheffield on a four-year contract however, the transfer fee remains undisclosed.
Per the source, Sheffield Wednesday beat both Serie A giants Lazio and Turkish Super League club Osmanlispor in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Joost van Aken has been given number four shirt and will join his new teammates for first-team training tomorrow.

The centre-back is available for selection on when the Owls take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday, September 9.
Van Aken racked up 90 appearances for Eredivisie side Heerenveen before completing his move to Sheffield Wednesday.
Owls manager Ricardo Carvalho previously managed Besiktas in the Turkey. Osmanlispor meanwhile take on newly promoted Goztepe in the Turkish league on September 10.
