Newcastle transfer news: £10m star striker proposed transfer to Magpies fall through, Crystal Palace also out of race
Turkey international striker Cenk Tosun looks set to remain at Besiktas this summer.
A source close to the Istanbul giants has revealed to Turkish-Football that Besiktas have been unable to strike a deal with either Premier League club.
The Black Eagles were not entirely keen on selling Tosun and put a stop to negotiations after failing to agree upon a payment structure with both Newcastle and Crystal Palace. The Magpies had tabled an £8 million bid for the 26-year-old.
Besiktas wanted the majority of the money paid up front so that they could have signed a replacement.

Newcastle are keen to bolster their attacking options as they want to provide further cover and competition for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Tosun netted an impressive 20 Turkish Super League goals last season and already has scored two this season. The 26-year-old striker has won back-to-back titles since his move to Besiktas from Gaziantepspor.
Newcastle take on Swansea City in their next Premier League fixture on September 10.
Ashley and Charnley out!
