Arda Turan on Liverpool & Tottenham radar

Barcelona winger Arda Turan could end up on loan at Liverpool or Tottenham according to Express.

The La Liga champions president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed today that contrary to previous comments Turan would indeed be loaned out for six months.

Turan joined Barcelona on a £24 million move – which could rise to £28 million – from Atletico Madrid last week but will be unable to play for his new side until January.

Barcelona are currently serving a transfer ban imposed by FIFA which runs until the end of the year. The Champions League winners have the right to sign players but are unable to register them while serving their ban.

Turan was expected to remain at Barcelona and adapt to La Liga giants system over the next six months but it seems now that he will be loaned out.

“[Loaning him out] is a possibility,” Bartomeu told RAC1.

“But the final decision must be made by coach Luis Enrique and it must be a purely technical decision.

“It must be a team not playing in the Champions League.”

The Express report that long-term targets Chelsea and Manchester United have been ruled out as a result of Bartomeu’s latest comments – although technically United could still sign Turan should they miss out on Champions League group stage football.

Spurs and Liverpool would however, be able to loan Turan should either side decide to make an offer.

Turan has been a long term target of the Reds and has revealed in the past that he would like to play for Liverpool one day.

“I want to play in major leagues and my dream team is Liverpool,” the Turkey international revealed before leaving Galatasaray for Atletico in 2011.
