Akhisar part company with the Senegal international Ibrahima Sonko
[divider]Akhisar Belediyespor have parted company with the Senegalese international centre back Ibrahima Sonko.
The clubs press officer İbraim Evren Acar confirmed news at a press conference and thanked Sonko for his contribution to the club.
Sonko agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the club after losing his place in the squad.
The powerful defender’s contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

Akhisar signed Sonko from Ipswich on a free transfer in August 2012. Sonko has previously also played for Stock City, Portsmouth, Hull City, Reading, Brentford, Grenoble and Saint Etienne.
Sonko has made just two Turkish Super League appearances for Akhisar this season.
Akhisar have also terminated the contracts of Taşkın Çalış and Kenan Özer. Roberto Carlos’s side have made sweeping changes to the squad during January.
The Akigolar take on Balikesirspor on Friday in the league.
