Besiktas rescinded their right to sign Anderson Talisca on a €21 million move from Benfica.

The Black Eagles had a buyout option for the 24-year-old that expired on 31 May.

Turkish-Football understands that the Istanbul giants were in talks with Talisca’s representatives Carlos Leite to keep him on a permanent deal but left the negotiations table after a disagreement over agent and sign-on fees.

Benfica could end up being the big winners as they have bumped up their valuation to €40m.

Portuguese publication the Record report that Besiktas pulling out of the race has opened up the path for Liverpool to go ahead and sign Talisca.

Per the source, the Brazilian is waiting for a concrete offer.

The report does also claim that Roma are also interested but it is worth pointing out that Giallorossi sporting director Monchi denied all links.

Monchi said: “We are not interested in him, these reports have no basis in reality.”

The Brazilian has made it clear he wants a Premier League move but has not opened up about which club he could end up joining.

Asked which country he dreams of playing in, Talisca told Correio da Bahia: “England. For the fans, for being a theatre, a show, all games are a spectacle and I like it.”

Talisca spent two seasons on loan at Besiktas, winning the league title and helping the Black Eagles cruise through the 2018-19 Champions League group stage as undefeated leaders.

The 1.91m tall attacker is under contract at Benfica until 2021 but Benfica do not want to keep him on.
