Man City defender could be set for a return to Turkey after disappointing season at Sunderland

Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has spent the season on loan at Sunderland.

The Black Cats are currently last in the league and facing the prospect of relegation.

Denayer has featured in one of the worst performing defensive setups in the league and will be unlikely to remain at Sunderland if they drop into the Championship.

Only four Premier League clubs have conceded more than the Black Cats 53 goals this season.

Galatasaray are keen on bringing Denayer back to the club next season and a source close to the Istanbul giants revealed to Turkish-Football that an enquiry has been made.

The Lions have made an enquiry to City regarding loaning Denayer next season.

Galatasaray will also consider signing Denayer on a permanent deal if City agree to reduce their asking price.

Denayer singed a five-year contract with City in 2015 but has yet to spend a full season at the club.

The Belgium international has enjoyed loan stints at Celtic, Galatasaray and Sunderland.

Denayer was a fan favourite at Galatasaray and played an important role in winning the Turkish Cup.
