Three reasons Arda Turan would be a success at Manchester United

The transfer season and Arda Turan are like peas to a pod. The Turkish international is linked with Liverpool without fail every transfer window but it seems that the man with the most famous beard in football could actually be on the verge of a Premier League move this summer.

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut revealed that he is in talks with three Premier League clubs. The agent decided it would be wrong to name the clubs but then went onto say that his client would only accept a move to a club playing Champions League football which whittled down the potential candidates down to four.

“I’m in discussion with three clubs, but I can’t reveal their names, they are three of the best clubs in England and indeed in Europe,” he told AS.

Manchester United are currently the bookmakers favourite – alongside Chelsea – to sign the Atletico Madrid star so we thought it would be the right time to explore three reasons why he could turn out to be a success for the Red Devils.

1. The Beard

Arda Turan’s beard has a cult following. If facial hair alone could get you a €40 million transfer his probably would but he does also have a number of other qualities to offer. The Turkish international has fantastic technique and dribbling ability but is also a very assiduous player who will track back to offer defensive cover. Turan is renowned for his attacking flair but his defensive work deserves a lot of praise as well. Under Diego Simone, Turan has become the complete package. His one downfall is not having a prolific scoring or assist ratio but there is no doubt that he is a key component of Simeone’s Atleti machine. Angel Di Maria could be on his way out this summer which would make signing a replacement winger all the more necessary.
