Besiktas are keen on keeping Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny on a permanent deal.
A source close to Besiktas informed Turkish-Football that efforts are being made to keep Elneny on beyond the end of the season.
The Gunners included an €18m buyout clause as part of the loan deal but Besiktas would be unable to match the fee demanded.
The Black-Whites want to negotiate a lower price for the Egypt international who fell out of favour at the north London club under the stewardship of Unai Emery.
Elneny has another three-years remaining on his Arsenal contract but it remains to be seen whether Emery’s successor will want to keep the 27-year-old on either.
Another option for Besiktas would be to extend Elneny’s loan deal by an additional season.

The Egypt international has been in form for Besiktas who are currently on a five game win streak.
In total he has one assist in 13 games for the Black Eagles.
Besiktas take on Kasimpasa away on Sunday, a victory would close the gap with leaders Sivasspor to just three points.
