Everton legend Duncan Ferguson knows a thing or two about what makes a good striker.
The former Toffees striker stated he is pleased with the progress January signing Cenk Tosun has shown.
The Turkey international got off to a slow start after failing to score in his first two starts.
Tosun was then benched for four games, playing second fiddle to Oumar Niasse before returning as first-choice striker against Burnley.
The 26-year-old has scored four times in his last three games, including a brace in the 2-1 win over Stoke City before the international break which was the Toffees first away win of 2018.
Ferguson revealed that he expected Tosun to keep scoring goals as long as he continues getting delivery and working hard.
“He’s settling in well,” Ferguson told Sky Sports News. “I think it took him a bit of time to adjust to the Premier League but he’s looking good.
“We’re obviously made up that he’s scored a few goals now. Hopefully that continues.

Craig Shakespeare says Cenk's appetite for hard work is the key to his recent success.

“He can be a success if he keeps on working hard, we keep on giving him the supply. I think he can score goals for us.”
Tosun has been averaging a goal every 106 minutes in the league which is the best rate for his side.
The powerful striker told us that Ferguson played a key role in helping him settle and adapt to the demands of the Premier League during his time on the bench.
